Brent Houlden

Independent Director

Brent Houlden was appointed to the Enerkem Board of Directors in September 2024.

Mr. Houlden is a corporate director, financial advisor and interim manager. Most of Mr. Houlden’s career has been spent consulting in the area of strategy and operations, and as a financial advisor on urgent business critical transactions. He is an operator and strategist with a wide breadth of management skills and consulting expertise.

After retiring as a senior Deloitte partner in November 2014, Mr. Houlden has held various management roles including CEO of Dealnet Capital Corp, Interim CFO of Danier Leather Inc. and several long-term interim management assignments involving end-to-end M&A transactions (deal sourcing, due diligence, closing and integration). 

Mr. Houlden currently serves on the board and audit committees of Extendicare Inc. (TSX: EXE), Corus Orthodontists Inc., and the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries. He has previously served on a number of other boards including the boards of Dealnet Capital and EcoHome Financial, Deloitte Canada, Datatax Business Services and Gravitas Financial.

Mr. Houlden is a CPA, CA and Licensed Insolvency Trustee (retired in 2023), and holds an MBA from Queens University and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
