Louis Dénommé leads the ongoing development of Enerkem’s core gasification technology, ensuring it continues to align with global net-zero objectives and evolving market needs.
Since joining Enerkem in 2010, Louis has played a key role in advancing the company’s waste-to-methanol and ethanol processes. He led the engineering team through the design and scale-up of Enerkem’s first commercial-scale demonstration facility in Edmonton, Alberta, and has been instrumental in the development of subsequent projects. He also oversees technology development activities at the Westbury Innovation Center.
Louis brings over 27 years of experience in process engineering and technology development, including leadership roles in project execution, R&D, conceptual design, modularization, plant operation support, and business development.
Before joining Enerkem, Louis worked at Shell’s Montreal Refinery, where he designed and implemented energy and GHG reduction programs. He also served as Lead Process Engineer for several engineering firms, managing refinery-related projects in the Montreal region.
Louis Dénommé holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke.
