Varennes Carbon Recycling (VCR)
The future of sustainable biofuels
Varennes Carbon Recycling (VCR) employs Enerkem's innovative process, coupled with one of the world's largest PEM electrolyzers, to produce biofuels and circular chemicals from non-recyclable waste and residual biomass.
Revolutionary electrolyzer fuels sustainable energy hub
VCR selects Accelera by Cummins
Varennes Carbon Recycling incorporates a substantial 90MW proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer system from Accelera by Cummins. This system, one of the largest currently under construction, will play a pivotal role in VCR's waste-to-fuels and circular chemicals production. Scheduled to be operational in 2026, this installation will produce renewable hydrogen and oxygen, contributing to carbon reduction in fuel and chemical production.
