Vincent Chornet left an incredible mark on our world as a visionary in the realm of renewable energy. In 2000, Vincent cofounded Enerkem alongside his father, Mr. Esteban Chornet, driving a paradigm shift in energy transition and waste management solutions.

Thanks to his vision, entrepreneurial spirit and leadership, Vincent has guided the company's evolution from a research and development entity to the commercialization of our patented waste-to-biofuels technology. We are now taking advantage of a significant intellectual property asset that we have acquired throughout years of unprecedented state-of-the-art technology development to implement Enerkem technology around the world.

As former CEO until 2019, Vincent instilled a culture of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering dedication, which became deeply ingrained in our company's DNA.

Prior to founding Enerkem, Vincent helped design and finance several industrial projects and start-up companies in the energy production and fine chemicals sectors, including Bioxalis Medica, Fractal Systems and Kemestrie. He has also worked at the Laurentian Bank of Canada.

Vincent was a member of the Clean Technology Advisory Committee of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada from 2012 to 2014 and served on the board of the Advanced Biofuels Business Council in the United States. He held a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal.

Although Vincent Chornet passed away in 2019 at the age of 45, his legacy continues to thrive. A street in Quebec (Canada), bearing his name, proudly leads to the Varennes Carbon Recycling plant, a testament to his contributions. Inside our headquarters, the Vincent Chornet Conference Room echoes with the innovative discussions he championed. And the Vincent Chornet Award is given annually to the employee who embodies his commitment to excellence. These tributes weave his inspiration into our daily journey, ensuring his vision continues to guide us toward a sustainable future.
