WHAT:  Enerkem Alberta Biofuels, along with the City of Edmonton and the
Government of Alberta, will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its
municipal waste-to-biofuels plant. For Enerkem, this symbolizes
its commitment to providing advanced transportation fuels locally
and globally. This world's first municipal waste-to-biofuels
facility will provide Edmonton the opportunity to reduce GHG
emissions by offering a sustainable alternative to landfilling
while producing an advanced transportation biofuel. The facility
will use Enerkem's green technology to convert non-recyclable and
non-compostable municipal solid waste into methanol and ethanol.

    WHO:   Remarks by:

           - The Honourable Ed Stelmach, Premier of Alberta
           - His Worship Stephen Mandel, Mayor of Edmonton
